Five days left!

Now I can count the number of days left to departure on one han

As you probably understand I am now starting to get pretty eager to get on that plane to SA! We have finished our second week at Marsteinen and now it´s time for some days off, and it is also time to say the final goodbye to my family and friends. It is not easy! My sister and brother has made me a really nice "memory album" with pictures of my family in it, and also many blank pages which I can fill with my own memories from my year in SA. It will probably be no problem filling the pages...I am leaving on Wednesday, so the next time I write I will probably be in Johannesburg, and I look forward to telling you about my first impressions!

Preporatory course at Marsteinen

33 FK-participants are now gathered at Marsteinen for two and a half week to prepare themselves for the most exciting year of their lives!

We have now finished our first week at Marsteinen, situated at Sotra, just outside of Bergen. It has been a tough week with some long, but very interesting lectures. We have learned about human rights, the Rafto house, the UN Millennium Goals, Norwegian Development Policy, personal challenges in a global development perspective and much more. In addition we have also got 32 new friends ! :) I look forward to the rest of the course, but I am also looking forward to finishing it so that we can leave for South Africa. We will leave next Wednesday, September 27th. There is a big bunch of butterflies in my stomach these days !
